The mission of West Metro Peacekeepers is to bring law enforcement officers, both believers in and seekers of Christ, closer to God through the ministries of study and fellowship.
We believe that law enforcement provides a unique perspective on life. As Christian officers, we have the responsibility to make a difference for Christ through our roles as both officers and coworkers. Our common goal is develop more “Christian PeaceKeepers” through fellowship and Bible study specifically for them.
West Metro Peacekeepers was created in September of 2005 after several months of conversation between a few Christian officers. These officers were looking for a Christian group that understood the unique issues that police officers face on a day to day basis. Since they could not find one, they created one.
West Metro Peacekeepers is based out of the Mpls/ St Paul area in Minnesota. Some agencies currently represented are: Anoka County SO, Blaine PD, Burnsville PD, Minnetonka PD, Minnesota DNR, Minnesota State Patrol, Plymouth PD, and Wright County SO. We have recently been recognized by the Minnesota Christian Chronicle with an article they published.
Special recognition is made for the honorary membership that has been granted to Officer Shawn Silvera, Lino Lakes PD, who was killed LODD on Sept 6, 2005. You may visit the site dedicated to Officer Silvera at www.shawnsilvera.org.
